New polymer-based superplasticiser
Product Description
ADVA® RH398 is a mid-range retarding water-reducing superplasticising admixture based on aqueous solution of chemical dispersants combined with other chemicals which increase its beneficial effects on the quality and plasticity of a concrete mix.
ADVA RH398 is a low viscosity liquid which has been formulated by the manufacturer for use as received. ADVA RH398 contains no added chloride and is formulated to comply with the following chemical admixture specifications for concrete: ASTM-C494, Type G. One litre of ADVA 398 weighs approximately 1.07kg ± 0.02kg.
Addition Rates
Addition rates of ADVA RH398 can vary with type of application, but will normally range from 400 to 1,500mL / 100kg of cementitious material. In most instances the addition of 600 to 1,200mL / 100kg of cementitious material will be sufficient. At a given watercement ratio, the slump required for placement can be controlled by varying the addition rate. Should job site conditions require using more than recommended addition rates, please consult your local GCP representative.

- Produces concrete with enhanced workability and extended slump retention to facilitate delivery and concrete placement and compaction.
- Concrete finishes easily without stickiness, tearing or spotty set characteristics.
- ADVA RH398 concrete, even at high slump, exhibits no significant segregation (reduces tendency to bleed) in comparison to concrete without a superplasticiser at the same slump.
- It can be added with the concrete mix water for rapid batching.

Compatibility with Other Admixtures
Most water reducers or water-reducing retarders are compatible with ADVA RH398 as long as they are separately added to the concrete. Pretesting of the concrete should be performed to optimise dosages and addition times of these admixture. The admixtures should not be in contact with each other before they enter the concrete. ADVA RH398 should not be used together with Naphthalene-based products such as Darex® Super 20 or Daracem®.

ADVA RH398 is available in bulk, and in 205 drums. ADVA RH398 contains no flammable ingredients.
