Product Description
DARATARD® Flex admixture is a ready-to-use aqueous solution of organic compounds. Ingredients are factory premixed in exact proportions to minimise handling, eliminate mistakes and guesswork. DARATARD Flex contains no added chloride and complies with BS EN 9 34 - 2:20 01.
One litre weighs approximately 1.055kg ± 0.02kg.
Applications
DARATARD Flex retards the initial and final set of concrete. DARATARD Flex provides flexibility in concrete setting time and slump retention, and is used in concrete where sufficient delivery, placement, vibration or compaction time is needed, such as long haul concrete.
DARATARD Flex is also used in special applications, including bridge decks where it extends plastic characteristics of the concrete until progressive deflection resulting from increasing loads is completed.
Set Time Control
DARATARD Flex is used in situations where a controlled set time extension or excellent slump retention is required. Examples include: extended hauls. large continuous pours or pre-batching of concrete for later use.
Compatibility with Other Admixtures
DARATARD Flex is compatible in concrete with all standard admixtures and approved air-entraining agents. It is necessary to make preliminary evaluation of the desired adjustments accordingly. Each admixture should be added separately.
Addition rates
Addition rates for DARATARD Flex can vary with the type of applications, but will normally range from 150 to 1,000mL/ 100kg of cementitious material. The amount to be used will depend upon the degree of retardation required under job conditions. Higher addition rates may be considered, subject to the project requirements, mix design criteria and site applications. Should conditions require using more than the recommended addition rates, e.g. up to 1,800mL/ 100kg of cementitious material, please consult your GCP representative.

Packaging
DARATARD Flex is available in bulk and 205L drums. It contains no flammable ingredients. DARATARD Flex will freeze at about -2 °C, but will return to full strength after thawing and thorough agitation.
